Half of Remotely Registered Voters Voted in Rostov Oblast

On the first day of the elections in the Rostov region, over 50% of voters registered on the remote voting platform (RVP) voted in 4 hours, the press service of the regional election commission reported.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, more than 2.8 thousand polling stations opened today in the Krasnodar region, where gubernatorial elections are taking place from September 12 to 14. Elections of city council deputies have also begun in Krasnodar, Anapa and Sochi. Observers from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation registered a number of violations in the region.

"Almost 130 thousand residents of the Rostov region, choosing the head of the region, have already cast their votes online. These are the data as of 12:00," RIA "Panorama" quotes the election commission as saying. In total, more than 258 thousand Don voters have submitted applications to participate in the elections via the DEG this year. The platform will be used in elections at all levels in 2025.

Note that on September 12, voting began in the Rostov Region for the governor's election, which will last until September 14. Five candidates are running for the post of head of the region. On August 7, the regional election commission registered Yevgeny Bessonov, nominated by the Rostov regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kosinov, nominated by the regional branch of the socialist political party "A Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth", Denis Frash, nominated by the Rostov regional branch of the LDPR", TASS reported. Another candidate is Yuri Slyusar, acting governor, a candidate from United Russia.

In addition, today the elections of deputies to the city councils of Rostov-on-Don, Volgodonsk, Donetsk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Novocherkassk, the cities of Shakhty, Gukovo and Zverevo began.

11 polling stations in the region did not open on the first day of the elections

Today in the Rostov region by 8.00 a.m. 2,516 out of 2,527 polling stations have opened, the regional election commission website reports.

Four polling stations did not open in Shakhty, one each in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Neklinovsky district, Novocherkassk, Taganrog, as well as in Kirovsky, Oktyabrsky and Sovetsky districts of Rostov-on-Don.

The press service of the regional election commission explained that this concerns extraterritorial polling stations where early voting took place, as well as temporary polling stations located in hospitals and pretrial detention centers - they will only operate on September 14. "The polling stations that were supposed to open today have all opened and are operating," RBC-Rostov quotes the election commission as saying.
