Dagestan authorities report extinguishing forest fires in two districts
Large forest fires in the Untsukulsky and Tsumadinsky districts of Dagestan have been extinguished, in the Tlyaratinsky district and Bezhtinsky area the fire has been localized. In the Tlyaratinsky district, village residents are helping to extinguish the forest.

In the Untsukulsky district, the area of the fire has grown to 27 hectares, residents of the village of Gimry even at night participated in the fight against the fire. On September 3, the authorities reported that the fire in the Untsukulsky district of Dagestan has been localized on an area of 20 hectares, but three new outbreaks have appeared that threaten the forest. In total, as of September 3, 320 people participated in extinguishing forest fires in the Untsukulsky, Tlyaratinsky and Tsumadinsky districts, as well as the Bezhtinsky section.
Large forest fires in the Untsukulsky and Tsumadinsky districts of Dagestan were extinguished during the day on September 4, the press service of the Dagestan government reported. “More than 160 people took part in extinguishing these fires, including representatives of the Forest Fire Center, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the local population,” the report says.
By the evening of September 4, it was possible to localize the landscape fires in the Tlyaratinsky district and the Bezhtinsky section, which began on August 31, Dagleskhoz reported on its official Telegram channel.
The fire in the Tlyaratinsky district was localized on an area of 19.1 hectares, the fire in the Bezhtinsky area - on an area of 7.2 hectares. "Work to eliminate them is planned for September 5," the department said in a statement.
Dagleskhoz thanked the volunteers who participated in extinguishing the fires. The department expressed special gratitude to the residents of the village of Sikar in the Tlyaratinsky district - the women "not only fed and watered the firefighters, but also carried water for several kilometers in knapsack fire extinguishers," the publication notes.
Due to the fires in the Untsukulsky and Tlyaratinsky districts in Dagestan, restrictions were imposed on residents' stay in the forests and entry into them by car until September 5, Sapa Kavkaz reports.
