Person responsible for elevators in Grozny fired after complaints from residents

In response to complaints from city residents about the condition of elevators in multi-story buildings, the mayor of Grozny complained about careless handling of equipment, but on the same day fired the official in charge.

The Grozny mayor's office reported today on a meeting between the city's head Khas-Magomed Kadyrov and residents of the microdistrict on Lev Yashin Street.

The city residents asked to strengthen the work of the relevant elevator repair services in order to ensure safety, especially for children and the elderly, the report says. "Residents of the building must take good care of the elevator equipment and not allow it to be damaged, especially by children. Often, even adults keep the elevator on one floor, which leads to serious breakdowns. Therefore, not only management companies, but also the city residents themselves should monitor the condition of the equipment," the mayor's office emphasized.

Following the meeting, the mayor decided to dismiss the person responsible for the maintenance of elevators in the city from his post, according to the mayor's Telegram channel.

During the meeting, residents also expressed wishes for the arrangement of sidewalks, the installation of benches and trash cans. To this, the mayor replied that this work is already underway as part of mass clean-up days.
