Two residential buildings caught fire in Rostov-on-Don during a drone attack

Residents of Rostov-on-Don reported explosions and a fire that started in one of the city's districts. The fire broke out on the roof of two residential buildings, the head of the Rostov region confirmed.

As "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on the morning of August 31, the Russian Defense Ministry reported about 19 drones shot down over the southern regions overnight. 11 UAVs were shot down in the skies over the Volgograd region, eight - in the Rostov region.

Residents of Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog after 1:00 Moscow time today reported the sounds of drones and explosions in the sky.

“A total of five to eight explosions were heard near Taganrog and in the suburbs of Rostov-on-Don. Locals report that flashes were visible in the sky,” the SHOT Telegram channel reported.

After the explosion in the western part of Rostov-on-Don, “lights were flashing” in residents’ apartments, and a fire was noticed on the roof of a building in the Leventsovsky microdistrict, the “Beware, News” channel reported.

Acting head of the Rostov region Yuri Slyusar confirmed at 1:31 a.m. Moscow time that air defense forces were operating in the city, and that the upper floors of two multi-story buildings in the Leventsovsky microdistrict were damaged and caught fire. The houses where the fire broke out are located on Tkacheva and Eremenko streets.

“Rescue services have arrived at the scene. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties,” wrote Slyusar.
