Investigation names accomplices of former Izberbash mayor

The deputy head of the land relations department and an expert of the same department of the Izberbash mayor's office were involved in land fraud.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on October 3, 2024, it became known that the mayor of Izberbash Magomed Isakov was arrested on suspicion of receiving a bribe of 3.9 million rubles for a construction permit. In June, his arrest was extended by 2 months.

Investigators reported the completion of the investigation into the criminal case of former Izberbash mayor Magomed Isakov. "Exceeding his official powers, acting with the deputy head of the land and property relations department and an expert of the same department, he illegally signed two decrees on the provision of land plots worth over 600 thousand rubles each," the message on the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan says.

The plots were temporarily registered to affiliated persons, and then re-registered to a third party to whom the administration had property obligations. The Izberbash administration suffered damages in the amount of more than one million rubles. The case has been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment, the department reported.

"Earlier, a criminal case was sent to court on charges of fraud committed by a group of persons in collusion with the former head of Izberbash (Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the Investigative Committee said in a press release.

Note that the maximum penalty under this provision of the law is up to six years in prison.

In November 2024, 37-year-old Rasul Bakayev was elected as the new mayor of Izberbash.
