Accounts of the owner of the tanker Volgoneft-212 frozen to secure a fine for damage to the Black Sea
The Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai has frozen the accounts and all banking assets of the owner and charterer of the Volgoneft-212 tanker that sank in the Kerch Strait. The charterer company is already in the process of bankruptcy.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, on May 30, Rosprirodnadzor filed lawsuits for 85 billion rubles against the owners of the Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 tankers that sank in the Black Sea. On August 13, the court upheld Rosprirodnadzor's claim against the owner and charterer of the Volgoneft-212 tanker and fined them almost 50 billion rubles. Later that day, the court fined the owner of the second tanker, Volgotransneft-239, 35 billion rubles.
The Anapa mayor's office demanded 211 million rubles from the tanker owners in the Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai, which were spent on eliminating the consequences of the disaster in the Black Sea. At the end of May, the amount of the claim was increased by 2.6 times - to 545 million rubles, and in August it grew to 647.4 million rubles. The case involves three defendant companies: Volgatransneft CJSC (owner of the Volgoneft 239 tanker), Kamatransoil LLC (owner of the Volgoneft 212 tanker), and Kama Shipping LLC (charterer of the Volgoneft 212).
The Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai has frozen all bank accounts of the owner (Kamatransoil LLC) and charterer Kama Shipping LLC) of the Volgoneft-212 tanker to ensure the decision on the fine previously imposed on these companies. The ruling was published on the court's website today.
The seizure applies to all cash and other assets of the companies located in banks and other credit institutions, including valuables in bank safes and cells, as well as accounts in precious metals. However, the restrictions do not apply to transactions involving the transfer of budget payments, payments on loans in Russian banks, and payment of salaries to employees.
The court granted Rosprirodnadzor's petition only partially: the agency demanded that the owner and charterer of the tanker be prohibited from opening new bank accounts, but the court considered this measure excessive, deciding that it would create obstacles to the companies' business activities.
At the same time, the company "Kama Shipping" is already in the process of bankruptcy - the corresponding claim was filed on August 21 by the inter-district inspection of the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 21 in the Perm Territory in the regional arbitration court, the hearing on it is scheduled for September 10, Interfax notes.
