Defense Ministry reports drones shot down in southern Russia

13 drones were shot down last night over the Volgograd region and five over the Rostov region.

Drone debris fell on the roof of a 16-story building on Opolchenskaya Street in Volgograd, the residents of the building were evacuated, but during the day the authorities allowed them to return to their apartments. Governor Andrei Bocharov said that as a result of the drone attack, oil products spilled and caught fire at the Volgograd Oil Refinery. Drone debris fell in the south of Volgograd, the roof of one of the hospital buildings caught fire, and a fire broke out on the territory of an oil refinery.

During the past night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 23 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, the Defense Ministry reported today on its Telegram channel.

According to the department, 13 UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Volgograd region, another five over the territory of the Rostov region, as well as five drones in Crimea.
