A court in Kuban fined local resident Anton Petrenko one thousand rubles for singing along to a song in Ukrainian at a birthday party. Petrenko apologized to his fellow citizens, saying that he did not want to offend anyone.
The Slavyansky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory fined 39-year-old resident of the Baranikovsky village Anton Petrenko for a song in Ukrainian.
According to the court, Petrenko was detained by law enforcement officers for celebrating his birthday by singing along to a song in Ukrainian, in which Ukrainians were called "an unconquered people" who will not forgive anything and will never surrender, OVD-Info* wrote on August 12.
The Telegram channel "ChP Krasnodar" published a video that became the reason for the man's arrest. In it, Petrenko and an unnamed girl sing a song in Ukrainian, in which the aforementioned words are heard. They are standing on a table in some gazebo, apparently in a state of slight intoxication. At the same time, Petrenko himself sings along slightly, while his companion does it much more actively. There is no information about any sanctions against her.
The court found the man guilty of petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and fined him a thousand rubles.
Petrenko has already managed to record a video with an apology. It was published by the same Telegram channel "ChP Krasnodar". He asked for forgiveness from the residents of the district and the village for "singing songs about Ukraine." According to him, they were celebrating a birthday, and sang "just songs that were playing on the speaker, they sang everything in a row." Petrenko admitted that "we didn't intend to do anything like that, we didn't want to offend anyone."
According to the Krasnodar Territory Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Petrenko will also be checked under the article on discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that on August 5, a court in Goryachy Klyuch fined Krasnodar Territory resident Margarita Reutt under the article on discrediting the army due to a malicious comment during the drone attack on the Likhaya station in the Rostov Region.
