A 19-year-old resident of Taganrog was found guilty of treason and sentenced to six years in prison. According to the investigation, he contacted representatives of Ukrainian intelligence and offered to provide them with information about the deployment of military units in the region.
On August 8, the Rostov Regional Court sentenced a 19-year-old resident of Taganrog, finding him guilty of treason.
According to the investigation, the young man, while still a minor, contacted employees of the Ukrainian special services and offered to provide them with information about the deployment of military units and facilities in Taganrog and the Rostov Region, as well as other data, Kommersant writes.
It is noted that the young man acted for ideological reasons, he fully admitted his guilt. The court found him guilty of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to six years in a general regime penal colony. The prosecution appealed the verdict.
Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that in the summer of 2024, a student from Taganrog, Vladislav Poruchikov, was sentenced to nine years in prison on charges of treason and attempting to recruit a terrorist organization. In April, the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the verdict.
