A queue of 2.6 thousand cars formed in front of the Crimean Bridge

Drivers of 1,500 cars are waiting in Krasnodar Krai to cross the bridge over the Kerch Strait, another 1,100 cars are standing in line on the Crimean side. The queue was preceded by a multi-hour stoppage of traffic on the bridge, which raised questions among Telegram users.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on the night of July 28, a queue of 79 cars formed in front of the Crimean Bridge from the Taman side, and by 9 Moscow time it increased to 653 cars.

As of 06:00 Moscow time, there are 1,500 cars in the queue to the Crimean Bridge from the Taman side, the Information Center for Highways to the Crimean Bridge reported on its Telegram channel.

"There are 1,100 vehicles in the queue for manual inspection from the Kerch side. The waiting time is more than three hours," the publication says.

According to the information center's publications, in the evening and until 23:00 Moscow time On August 1, there were no queues in front of the bridge, and then traffic on it was blocked. "We ask those on the bridge and in the inspection zone to remain calm and follow the instructions of the transport security officers," the publication made at 23.50 Moscow time stated.

The information center reported that traffic had been restored only at 05.04 Moscow time. The reasons for the traffic stoppage were not indicated in the publications.

According to the Emergencies Ministry application, a missile threat was declared in Crimea at night, RBC writes.

The suspension of traffic raised questions among users of the "Crimean Bridge Chat" telegram chat. "If you are already on the bridge, you step on the gas and drive in the direction of traffic. If you are at the inspection itself or before it, you will be turned around and you will drive away from the zone of possible falling debris back to the end of the line. Anyone who doesn't like this can complain to the FSB, it's their decision," explained the chat administrator Oleg Volodin.

Recall that on July 17, 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by Ukrainian drones, one span was destroyed, another was damaged. Traffic on the bridge was restored only on November 1 of the same year.

On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, two spans collapsed. Vladimir Putin called the incident a terrorist attack, the FSB stated that the organizer of the terrorist attack was the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Traffic on the bridge was restored a month later.
