Official detained after searches at Ingushetia's Ministry of Education and Science

Law enforcement agencies have detained an employee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia. She is suspected of fraud in a case of theft of more than 10 million rubles.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on July 30 searches were conducted against the backdrop of an investigation into a case of multi-million ruble theft during preparation for the Unified State Exam. At the same time, the press service of the ministry denied the fact of searches.

Security officials have detained an employee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ingushetia, she is suspected of fraud and abuse of office, the republican department of the Investigative Committee reported on its Telegram channel. According to the department, the employee of the Ministry of Education and Science will be charged, and a motion to place her in custody will be sent to the court.

On the afternoon of July 30, investigators conducted searches at the Ministry of Education and Science and at the home of the detainee. Equipment and documentation were seized from the woman.

The investigation established that from 2021 to 2022, the official and other defendants stole money allocated to compensate teachers. The latter participated in preparations for the Unified State Exam in Ingushetia. To do this, the ministry employees forged contracts and certificates of completion. In total, more than 10.7 million rubles were stolen.

The names of the defendants in the case were not named in the Investigative Committee's press release. The department published a video from which it follows that the official was detained at her workplace. The video shows her leaving the Ministry of Education building accompanied by security forces.

It should be noted that in April it was reported that the Magas District Court would consider a criminal case on the theft of 15.7 million rubles against the former director of the regional information processing center and the head of the accounting, control and reporting department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic on charges of large-scale fraud, the regional prosecutor's office reported.

"According to the investigation, in 2018, the accused, with the aim of embezzling budget funds, organized the preparation of documents with false information about the work performed by 84 individuals to prepare and conduct the Unified State Exam in the republic in 2016-2018," the release said. According to the department, in reality, these people were not teachers and did not participate in the exams. They produced false documents with inflated information about the amount of compensation to be paid to 140 teaching staff for the work they had done to prepare for and conduct the Unified State Exam.
