Azeri researcher Samedov sentenced to 15 years in jail

According to the decision of Judge Elnur Nuriev, the sentence will be served in a maximum security correctional facility, the “haqqin.az” outlet has clarifies.
Let us note here that the prosecutor has demanded 16 years in jail for Samedov. Article 274 "High Treason" of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, which he is charged with, provides for imprisonment for a term of twelve to twenty years or life imprisonment.
"Bakhruz, being a political analyst, was engaged in studies, including on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, and studied the opinions of different sides. Bakhruz is currently studying for a doctorate at the Charles Czech University. He came for the holidays and had to go back to study," Samedov's grandmother said earlier.
