Iranian citizen executed for attacking Azerbaijani Embassy
Iran has executed the death penalty for Yasin Guseinzade, convicted of attacking the Embassy of Azerbaijan.
On the morning of May 21, the death sentence of Yasin Guseinzade was carried out in the case on the attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, the APA reports.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran took place on January 27, 2023. The chief of the Azerbaijani Embassy’s security service was killed in the attack, and two other security guards were wounded. The attacker was detained. After the incident, Azerbaijan suspended the activities of the embassy and evacuated its employees, but the Azerbaijani consulate general in Tabriz continued its activities. The attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan became one of the events that complicated relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. In July 2024, the Azerbaijani Embassy resumed its activities in Tehran.
