Policeman wounded in attack on DPS post in Chechnya dies
The policeman who was wounded in an attack on the road-and-patrol police (known as DPS) post located in Achkhoi-Martan has died. According to sources, the attack on DPS inspectors with a knife was committed by a minor.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 7 this year, sources reported an attack committed by an unknown person with a knife on the DPS post in Achkhoi-Martan. The Chechen Branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported that the attack was committed by a "local resident" who was shot dead by "return fire", and at least two policemen were wounded.
According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", this incident was at least the second attack on law enforcers in Chechnya in the last six months.
The "Sapa Kavkaz" outlet reports that the attacker was 17 years old, while a Telegram channel oppositional to Chechen authorities has reported that he was 16 years old.
