Doctor from Novocherkassk fined for damaging patriotic banners

In Novocherkassk, a court sentenced doctor Ivan Churinov to a fine, recognizing pouring paint to portraits of participants in the special military operation in Ukraine as discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in September, the law enforcement bodies instituted criminal cases on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces after banners with portraits of participants in the special military operation in Ukraine had been damaged in Rostov-on-Don and Novocherkassk.

Earlier, Ivan Churinov declared his willingness to go to the special military operation zone in Ukraine.

The doctor was found guilty of two episodes of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, which caused damage, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reported with reference to the court’s press service.

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
