Georgian trade unions come out in support of Ukraine

On March 29, Tbilisi hosted a large-scale action in support of the movement "Solidarity with Ukraine", organized by Georgian trade unions. They also voiced out in favour of European integration, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Maka, an elderly woman, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she came to the action to support her Ukrainian relatives and friends. "I have many friends and relatives in Ukraine, and I worry about them. I can't call them. I'd like to invite them to my place, but I have no way to contact them," she said.

Irakli Petriashvili, the chairman of the United Trade Union, addressed the participants of the rally. He urged to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people and support the Georgia's European integration.

"European integration is a priority for citizens of Georgia. We once again send a joint message to our Ukrainian brothers," Mr Petriashvili has stated.
