Policemen demand explanations from picketers in support of Gadjiev

The three journalists who held solo pickets in Makhachkala in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev were forced to give written explanations to the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dagestani journalists are regularly holding solo pickets in the central Makhachkala in support of their colleague – the arrested journalist of the "Chernovik" (Draft) outlet, Abdulmumin Gadjiev.

Abdulmumin Gadjiev is accused within the case of financing terrorism. His colleagues treat his prosecution as pressure on him.

On March 28, pickets in his support were held at the intersection of Dakhadaev Street and Rasul Gamzatov Avenue in Makhachkala, one of the initiators, Magomed Magomedov, a journalist, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The first solo picket was held by Magdy Kamalov, the founder of the "Chernovik"; the second – by Magomed Magomedov himself; and the third one – by Idris Yusupov, a journalist of the "Novoye Delo" outlet.

According to Magomedov, policemen demanded written explanations from each picketer. However, he has added that there were no obstacles to picketing from law enforcers.
