Armenia calls on Azerbaijan to negotiate within OSCE Minsk Group format

Yerevan is ready to resume negotiations with the participation of OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe) officials, and treats these talks as a guarantee of restoring security in Nagorno-Karabakh, Nikol Pashinyan stated on August 18 and confirmed the Armenia's desire to start demarcating the border with Azerbaijan.

President Pashinyan has recalled that the roadmap, which he published on November 18, 2020, told about the restoration of normal life in Nagorno-Karabakh and the negotiation process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

"Our position is that the full resumption of the peace negotiation process within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group will be the key to restoring stability and security in the region," the "Sputnik Armenia" has quoted Mr Pashinyan as saying.

He has added that the trilateral working group is already working on the initial agenda for regional communications, an agreement on this was reached by the parties in conflict at the talks in Moscow on January 11, 2021, the "News-Armenia" has reported.

Nikol Pashinyan has also pointed to Armenia's readiness for negotiations on the demarcation of the Azerbaijani border. "We have several times expressed our readiness to work on border demarcation. We hope that we will be able to move forward in all these directions," the "Armenpress" quotes the Prime Minister as saying.
