Balasanyan accuses Azerbaijani forces of violating border

The Azerbaijani side does not comply with the terms of the peace agreement and sends its armed forces deep into the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, states Vitaly Balasanyan, Secretary of the Security Council of the unrecognized republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 5, the head of the Shurnukh village located in the Syunik Region of Armenia, where the demarcation of the border was underway, said that the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides were negotiating regarding the location of border checkpoints in the village, while the question of creating a neutral zone was still open.

The armed forces of Azerbaijan violate the agreements and advance their positions deep into the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, claims Vitaly Balasanyan, Secretary of the Nagorno-Karabakh Security Council.

In particular, according to Vitaly Balasanyan, violations by Azerbaijan were registered in the direction of Agdam, Askeran, Stepanakert, and Karmir Shuk (the Azerbaijani name is Qırmızı Bazar, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). "We report to the Russian peacekeeping contingent about the violations that have been registered. Although the issues raised are still partially resolved, the positive trends are observed in this direction," Vitaly Balasanyan emphasized.
