Mass rally held at parliament building in Tbilisi

Tbilisi protesters have held a mass march along Rustaveli Avenue and gathered in the square near the parliament building. They demand early parliamentary elections under the proportional election system.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since November 14, Tbilisi has been holding actions of activists dissatisfied with the failure of the parliamentary vote for the draft that assumed to change the electoral system. On November 18, law enforcers dispersed the rally; four persons received traumas, but the protests continued.

The protesters demand to dismiss the government, remove Bidzina Ivanishvili, the leader of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party from power, and hold parliamentary elections "under the interim government and independent election administration."

The opposition intends to go on with protest until its demands are met.

The "Georgian Dream" fails to react to Russia's hostile actions and to kidnappings of Georgian citizens near the demarcation line with the occupied territories, Tariel Beridze, a resident of Tbilisi, has stated at the rally.
