Dagestani teenager's confession to father's murder triggers debates about crisis of family values

Three persons were detained on suspicion of killing a resident of Dagestan, including his 16-year-old son, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Law enforcers also released a video with the teenager's confession. Some users of social networks associated the brutality of young people with a lack of upbringing care.

On September 25, a woman from Dagestan filed a complaint to the police that on September 22, her brother left home and never returned. Policemen found that a conflict occurred between the man and his 16-year-old son. Later, the teenager together with his two friends of 17 and 18 years old, whom he promised a large amount of money for help, hit his 55-year-old father with a metal pipe to the head. The father died. The young people hid the body in the forest, reports the Dagestani MIA on its Instagram page.

Most comments under the MIA's report sharply condemned the young people involved in the murder. Some social network users drew attention to the calm voice of the teenager in the video.

"It seems that he is telling something improbable. Most likely, he was forced to say so," suggested user aigo_ley.

Other social network users associated the teenagers' behaviour with a lack of upbringing care.

"The fathers shifted the process of their sons' upbringing to the mothers, so they got a generation of ill-mannered boys," believes stimod_05.

"Good fathers are not killed with cold blood," suggested user sm_05s.
