Social networks do not trust version of domestic nature of shootout between natives of Chechnya and Dagestan

Users of social networks criticized officials for alleging that a shootout of natives of Chechnya and Dagestan in the centre of Krasnodar was a domestic conflict. The authorities try to hide the interethnic background of the incident, the social network users suggest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, a conflict with involvement of several dozen people took place near the Vishnyakov marketplace in Krasnodar. A local resident, a native of Dagestan, was killed in a shootout. Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) confirmed the information from sources that five suspects involved in the shootout in Krasnodar were detained in Sochi.

Said-Khussein Khamzatov, the plenipotentiary envoy of Chechnya in the Krasnodar Territory, declared that the shootout arose "out of a domestic quarrel" in a store.

In the public account "Tupodar ™ Krasnodar", users of Instagram criticized the version about the domestic nature of the conflict.

"If two men are holding guns (and there was someone else with a rifle on the video), then it is an organized crime grouping, and if they are members of an ethnic community, then it is an ethnic organized crime grouping! If they deliberately carry guns, being members of a grouping, then imagine how it could be a kind of domestic conflict," wrote vrode_neon.

The official version voiced by the authorities also surprised users of Facebook and VKontakte. "Well, we reached the point. The bandits' shootout is already classified as an 'ordinary domestic conflict'," wrote Viktor Chirikov, a user of Facebook.

"It looks more like an interethnic incident," agreed Mikhail Volkov.
