Volgograd activists put Ukrainian election as example to Putin

In Volgograd, activists have held solo pickets in support of democratic election in Ukraine and demanding the power changeability in Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a group of Volgograd activists is regularly holding solo pickets against the policies of the Russian government. On April 13, picketers criticized Vladimir Putin's policies, claiming political repression, unemployment, and a deterioration of Russians' living standards.

On April 21, five Volgograd activists held a new series of solo pickets in Lenin Avenue of the city. They held posters with support of democratic elections in Ukraine, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.

Galina Tikhenko, a pensioner from the city of Volzhsky, stood with a banner: "I want fair elections like in Ukraine!" "I want to have fair elections in Russia. Over 20 years, there were no fair elections in Russia; and we hadn't seen them under communists either. They are good guys in Ukraine; they still don't know who'll win the election. They have democratic elections there, while we have dictatorship and, in fact, no elections. Dictatorship is a road to collapse," the picketer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
