Dagestani woman accused of links with militants

A female resident of Makhachkala had joined militants and took part in a robbery and kidnapping of two persons, the Prosecutor's Office (PO) has stated.

According to investigators, the woman joined a militant grouping in the Tabasaran District in early February 2016. Later, she became a member of the gang, engaged in robbery, and, together with her accomplices, she kidnapped two residents of the village of Djuli, the PO has reported.

She is charged under articles on participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF), a criminal community and a terrorist organization, banditry, robbery, kidnapping and illegal arms circulation. The case was sent to the North-Caucasian District Military Court, the Dagestani PO has reported on its website on February 28.
