Family attacked in Abkhazia's Gal district

An attack on Abkhaz family, Morgoshia, was carried out in Abkhazia's Gal district.

Officers of the District Division of Internal Affairs temporarily resided in the house of Vazha Morgoshia, b. 1934, the Abkhaz Internal Affairs Ministry told Caucasian Knot's correspondent. The incident occurred at 2:15 a.m. on the night of 11 December, according to minister Otar Khetsia. When unknown attackers fired automatic weapons at Mr Morgoshia's house, the police officers opened response fire. The gunmen ran away towards Georgia's Zugdidi district after that, said the minister. The master of the house and the police officers did not suffer.

A grenade launcher was shot four times during the attack. The house of Dali Khalvash, head of administration in Otoboia, was also damaged as a result.
