Residents of Grozny report enforcing to attend rally

Employees of budgetary institutions and students of Grozny have told that they were obliged to come to the rally on November 4 on the occasion of the National Unity Day. It is planned that the rally will be 20,000 strong, the city Mayoralty has stated.

"The attendance is strictly obligatory – they will check who is present," Islam, an employee of a budget-funded organization of Grozny, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Musa, a deputy director of one of motor companies, has confirmed that there was an order "to ensure the attendance."

Students of Grozny higher schools were also obliged to take part in the celebration of the National Unity Day. "For the absence there, a student may be not admitted to the exams," said Zarema, a student.

According to her story, students are used to being systematically attracted to various mass events. "Guys have a harder time, because they are also forced to attend football matches and other major sporting events," she has added.

In connection with the festive events, enhanced security measures have been introduced until the evening of November 4, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.
