Network users react to Chechen Mufti's criticism of Ingush activists

Salakh-Khaji Mezhiev, the Mufti of Chechnya, has criticized the organizers of the protests in Magas and said about his failed attempts to hold a dialogue with Isa Khamkhoev, the Mufti of Ingushetia. Mezhiev's statements triggered mixed reactions among Internet users.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since October 4, a rally was held in Magas against fixing a new administrative border with Chechnya. On October 17, the organizers of the rally proposed to suspend it in order to prepare the World Congress of the Ingush People to be held on October 31.

In his video message, Mufti Mezhiev criticized the Ingush elder Mukhazhir Nalgiev for speaking out against Ramzan Kadyrov. He also noted the role of Akhmat and Ramzan Kadyrov in the history of modern Chechnya, and stated aid that he loves Ramzan "more than life."

On October 19, Kadyrov visited Nalgiev, who had criticized the head of Chechnya at a rally in Magas, and called on the Ingushes to give up claims against him. He also announced reconciliation and absence of mutual claims.

Mufti Mezhiev believes that the rally in Ingushetia was organized by opponents of the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov; and "Isa Khamkhoev had joined them."

The appeal of the Chechen Mufti caused resonance among Internet users; their opinions differed.

"Isn't he himself sick of his words and sycophancy to Kadyrov?" asks the user with the nickname S A.

"Stop getting into internal affairs of Ingushetia! We didn't elect Evkurov and MPs!" the user Trustworthy Man has declared.

Let us remind you that on October 16, Kadyrov expressed threats to the organizers of the rally in Magas, inviting them to hold a rally in the territory that they consider illegally transferred to Chechnya.
