Action against price hike held in Yerevan

Today, Yerevan has hosted an action against price hike, which turned into a march across the city centre. According to the organizer, the opposition "Elk" bloc, several thousand people took part in the march.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, in connection with the entry into force of the new Tax Code and increase of excises, Armenia increased prices for gasoline, compressed gas and diesel fuel. Citizens also complained about the growth of foodstuff prices.

The march ended in Northern Avenue in Yerevan without incidents. The next similar action will be held on February 5, Nikol Pashinyan, the head of the "Elk" parliamentary faction, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, by the next rally the bloc intends to finalize its version of the Tax Code and present "concrete proposals and actions" to people.
