Residents of South Ossetia report problems of local medical facilities

Citizens of South Ossetia will be able to receive free medical care in medical facilities in Russia, announced Anatoly Bibilov after his visit to Moscow on November 14. In Tskhinvali, hospitals often have no necessary drugs, noted city residents, who preferred to go to Vladikavkaz for medical treatment.

Russia will extend the system of compulsory medical insurance to residents of South Ossetia with Russian citizenship, announced Anatoly Bibilov. According to him, on November 14, the appropriate agreement was signed by Veronika Skvortsova and Georgy Totchiev, Ministers for Public Health of Russia and South Ossetia, respectively.

Meanwhile, according to Anatoly Bibilov, in South Ossetia, not all citizens of Russia have medical insurance policies.

In addition, Ossetia will get a helicopter with medical equipment for emergency cases.

"It is not at all difficult" to get a medical insurance policy with a Russian passport, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Irina Djioeva, a resident of Tskhinvali.

In the Tskhinvali hospital, relatives of the patients themselves often purchase and bring drugs at request of medical officers.
