In Sochi, police disperse action of Alexei Navalny's supporters

About 50 supporters of Alexei Navalny were detained in Sochi. Today, in total, about 100 people have come to the anticorruption action in the city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that participants in the anticorruption rally in Krasnodar compiled a resolution with the demands for resignation of Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev and admission of Alexei Navalny to the presidential election of 2018.

In Sochi, participants of the protest action planned to march from the "Alexandria" shopping centre (SC) along Constitution Street down to the monument to victims of political repression at the intersection of Constitution and Parkovaya Streets.

However, Alexander Bondarev, the chief of the OVD (Interior Division) for the Central District of Sochi, demanded from the participants of the action to disperse immediately. According to him, he "sees in the action signs of an unsanctioned rally."

Then the policemen began to detain supporters of Alexei Navalny. The participants of the action complained about a provocateur, who "reported to the police false denunciations about offences."

According to several detainees, the policemen seized their passports from them and did not explain the reasons for their detention.

Earlier, the Alexei Navalny's supporters have failed in seeking from the Sochi City Mayor's Office a sanction for holding a rally.
