Kadyrov states his non-involvement in forming battalions for Syria
The Chechen leadership has nothing to do with the formation of battalions for sending to Syria, Ramzan Kadyrov has stated today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, it became known about the formation in Chechnya of military battalions to be sent to Syria. The mission of sending two battalions of 600 people each to Syria was put before the leadership of the ChechenRepublic, the "Novaya Gazeta" has reported.
As stated by the head of Chechnya today, the information about formation in the republic of special battalion from among employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for taking part in warfare in Syria "has nothing to do with reality."
"Formation of any battalion is not the function of the executive power of Russian regions. Moreover, they are not created in fact. The leadership of the ChechenRepublic is not engaged in the formation of any battalions for sending anywhere," the "Interfax" quotes Ramzan Kadyrov as saying today.
