Krasnodar residents: draft of general urban development plan contradicts citizens' interests
In Krasnodar, participants of a rally demanded to stop public hearings on a draft of the general urban development plan. According to the protestors, the draft plan is focused on the needs of developers and contradicts the interests of local residents.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 3, residents of Krasnodar held an ecological rally "Save Krasnodar!"
Local residents spoke against the changes to the urban development plan, which planned sharp reduction in green areas of the city. Furthermore, according to the protestors, amendments to the urban development plan will not solve traffic problems and acute shortage of social infrastructure.
According to Vasily Egupets, a member of the public movement "Helped the City", for some reasons, it is impossible to adapt the draft plan comprehensively on the basis of the current hearing.
Vasily Egupets has noted that "to talk about the changes, it is necessary to have official materials." He has also mentioned shortage of time as another important aspect.
The activist assumes that in the course of the current hearing, the city residents will submit about one thousand of suggestions.
