In Karachay-Cherkessia, authorities promise financial support for NCOs
In 2017, Karachay-Cherkessia shall allocate 500,000 roubles from the regional budget to support socially oriented non-commercial organizations (NCOs). This was reported by the Ministry for Social Development for Karachay-Cherkessia.
"This year, the republic missed three points to go through a competitive selection and to receive co-financing from the federal budget. Thus, the funds will be allocated only from the regional budget," explained Kulistan Djantemirova, the chief of the administration-legal department of the Ministry for Social Development for Karachay-Cherkessia.
On October 31, the republic announced the competitive selection of socially-oriented projects of NCOs. The selection will be completed in late November. According to Kulistan Djantemirova, as a result of the selection, the funds may be allocated to NCOs implementing projects to support mothers and children, prevention of child abandonment, development of patriotic education, as well as projects aimed at improving the quality of life of older people, social inclusion of persons with disabilities and their family members.
According to the Department for Karachay-Cherkessia of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the republic has registered more than 700 NCOs, including about 300 socially oriented ones.
