In Buynaksk, hunger-strikers stop their protest action

In Buynaksk, the hunger strike has been stopped in connection with the launch of the investigation into the violations committed at the elections in Buynaksk. This was reported by one of the organizers of the protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28, supporters and activists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) declared a hunger strike in Buynaksk with the demand to review the election results. On October 16, the number of hunger-strikers reduced to eight persons. On October 17, the health state of the hunger-strikers deteriorated, and on October 18, they announced the suspension of their protest action. On October 19, the resumption of the hunger strike was declared by Kamil Nurudinov, Magomedtagir Rizvanov, Akhmed Beibulatov, and Mukhtar Magomedov. As at October 27, the hunger strike was continued by two men, including Akhmed Beibulatov and Pirav Gadjimamaev, who joined the hunger-strikers on October 23.

"We've decided to suspend the hunger strike starting from October 28. This is done due to the fact that the General Prosecutor's Office and the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia sent documents showing violations committed on September 18 during the elections in Buynaksk for consideration to the Investigating Committee and the Prosecutor's Office for Dagestan," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Magomed Osmanov, one of the organizers of the hunger strike, who took part at the elections of September 18 as a candidate of the People's Assembly of Dagestan.
