Tskhinvali residents complain of regular power outages

Power outages occur in Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia, as a rule, once every two months, residents of Tskhinvali told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Outages entail the absence of water and heating in dwelling houses, as all these utilities are electricity-driven," said Indira Gagloeva, a resident of Tskhinvali.

Owners of grocery stores have purchased diesel generators to backup power outages.

"They are especially needed in summer, when during outages foodstuffs in refrigerators get spoiled," said Eric Chochiev, an entrepreneur.

Power outages cause special discomfort for families with small children: kindergartens are closed for these periods, because they cannot cook breakfasts and lunches.
