In Sochi, investigator starts additional investigation in case against Donchi-ool pensioners

At the request of public prosecutor, investigator started an additional investigation with regard to the retired spouses Klara and Valentin Donchi-ool accused in the case of felling of trees. The investigation is being carried out by the same investigator, whose materials were not approved by the Prosecutor's Office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Sochi, the Donchi-ool spouses were accused of illegal felling of trees. The pensioners themselves have stated that they were struggling for the preservation of green spaces.

"We hoped that the prosecutors would give the case to another policeman, since it was incorrect to pass our complaints to the person against whom we filed our complaints," said Valentin Donchi-ool.

His wife Klara Donchi-ool has noted that she had repeatedly asked the investigator to invite an interpreter; however, he had again refused her request.

In the case, it would be correct to close the case for absence of components of crime, believes advocate Anatoly Eroshenko. According to him, the criminal proceedings against the Donchi-ool spouses may be described as the prosecution of obviously innocent persons.
