In Yerevan, case of attack on journalists brought to court

In Yerevan, a case of obstructing the activities of journalists during the dispersal of demonstrators in the Sari Tag District on July 29 is brought to court. The case involves four defendants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, in Yerevan, activists held a march in support of the rebels who seized the police regiment building. When the march reached the Sari Tag District, demonstrators formed 2 groups. Law enforcers dispersed the marchers on protest around the seized building. On July 30, 55 demonstrators and four policemen were hospitalized. Journalists were also injured during the dispersal of the protest action.

The case of obstructing the activities of journalists will be considered by the first instance court of general jurisdiction of the administrative districts of Erebuni and Nubarashen, chaired by Judge Artush Gabrielyan, reports the "Datalex.am", a court information portal.

The indictment states that on July 29, Seiran Karapetyan, Vladimir Mkhitaryan, David Sargsyan, and Karen Grigoryan committed acts of hooliganism, accompanied by use of violence and obstruction of legal activities of Albert Galstyan, a journalist of the "Armenia" TV Company.
