In Kabardino-Balkaria, police close underground weapon workshop
In the town of Maisky, while searching a garage belonging to a local resident, policemen discovered a workshop with equipment to transform gas pistols into traumatic ones. The criminal case was instituted against the owner of the garage on the charge of illicit manufacture of weapons.
The garage belonging to a 46-year-old man, who had earlier criminal record, was searched by staff members of the criminal investigation department of the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) together with their colleagues from the Russian MIA's Division for the town of Maisky in the course of verification of the operational information.
From the place of the search, field investigators seized a stationary drilling machine, rounds, and gas pistols of several brands, one of which had already been transformed into a traumatic pistol.
According to the investigators, the owner of the garage was engaged in transformation of gas pistols into traumatic ones in the hope for casual customers, reports today the website of the Kabardino-Balkarian MIA.
