In Chechnya, relatives of advocate Ilyas Alaev demand to open criminal case on his murder

Moscow lawyer Ilyas Alaev, a native of Chechnya, who was found dead in a garage cooperative, was killed. This was stated by his relatives. They reject the investigators' preliminary version about his suicide. The circumstances of the Ilyas Alaev's death contain sufficient grounds to consider the version of his murder as a major version. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by members of the Chechen Human Rights Council (HRC).

The investigators told relatives of Ilyas Alaev that he was addicted to poker, but he was not lucky in it, and at the time of his death, his debt amounted to about one million roubles, the "Life" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.

Arsen, a brother of Ilyas Alaev, believes that his brother deceased as a result of murder.

"He did not need the money, and he could easily close down his debts if he had any," believes Arsen.

The relatives of Ilyas Alaev reject the version of suicide and for religious reasons.

Ilyas Alaev was engaged in the legal profession during two years, and prior to that, he worked at the Preobrazhensky and Lefortovo Courts of Moscow, his brother notes. According to him, Ilyas Alaev was not involved in resonant trials.

The circumstances of the Ilyas Alaev's death contain sufficient grounds to consider the version of his murder. This opinion was voiced by advocate Zaurbek Sadakhanov, an expert of the HRC under the leader of Chechnya. According to him, no one believes in the official version of the investigators that Ilyas Alaev committed suicide.
