Contest for post of director general of Makhachkala Port invalidated

The Gudermes City Court has satisfied the lawsuit of Magomed Kantaev against the "Rosmorrechflot" (Russian Federal Agency for Marine and River Fleet) and invalidated the contest for the post of Director General of the Makhachkala Commercial Seaport (MCS), because of the fact that Kantaev had not been admitted to the contest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 29, Makhach Aliev, the head of the union of port workers, said that the "Rosmorrechflot" had decided not to renew the contract with Akhmed Gadjiev, Director General of the MCS.

In protest, employees of the port stopped all the works since May 30; however, on the same day they resumed their work, stating that they would wait for the cancellation of the new appointment for a week.

According to the "Chernovik" weekly, Andrei Gormakh was appointed Director General of the MCS on May 27 on the outcomes of the contest, held by the "Rosmorrechflot", while Akhmed Gadjiev had not passed the contest.

The situation around the MCS has to do with the rivalry of two economic groups – of Suleiman Kerimov and Ziyavudin Magomedov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Summa" Group, the journalists, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have suggested.

The court has also ruled to arrest the issuance of the order of the "Rosmorrechflot", based on the above decision on the appointment of the Director General of the MCS.
