"ANC" activist Tigran Arakelyan released on recognizance not to leave
The investigating authorities have changed the pre-trial restriction measure to Tigran Arakelyan, an activist of the "Armenian National Congress" (ANC).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 30, 2015, it became known about the arrest of Tigran Arakelyan, an "ANC" activist. He is suspected of blackmailing two Armenian MPs.
On May 28, the investigators replaced the activist's arrest with the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of recognizance not to leave. This was reported by Tigran Arakelyan himself.
In July 2012, Tigran Arakelyan was sentenced to six years of imprisonment on the charge of disorderly conduct and disobeying policemen. The activist claimed that he had committed no illegal acts and that he had been beaten by the police. On October 14, he was released from custody in accordance with the decision of the Armenian Criminal Court of Appeal.
