Organizer of Circassian Memorial Day in Moscow released from police
In Moscow, Beslan Teuvazhev, detained near Moscow metro station on the Circassian Memorial Day, is released.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Beslan Teuvazhev submitted a notification for holding an action in honour of the Circassian Memorial Day in Hyde Park in Sokolniki. However, he was refused due to the fact that on the same day, another organization also requested to hold an event in the same park. Beslan Teuvazhev re-submitted a notification for holding an action on May 22, but he was refused again. At about 7:00 p.m. of May 21, he was detained near the metro station "Vorobyovy Gory". The information on his detention was received by the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot".
At about 0:30 a.m. Moscow time, the "Caucasian Knot" was reported that Beslan Teuvazhev was released. Later, Beslan Teuvazhev reported on his release in a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to the activist, at night, the police have also released other people detained in Moscow on the Circassian Memorial Day.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that every year on May 21, different regions of the country, including Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and others, hold mourning events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Caucasian War (the Circassian Memorial Day).
