Chechen MIA announces detention of four helpers to attack on checkpoint

Today, Ruslan Alkhanov, the Chechen Interior Minister, has reported to Ramzan Kadyrov the detention of accomplices to Shamil Djanaraliev and Akhmed Inalov, who had been killed at their attack on a checkpoint in the Grozny District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 9, two armed men attacked a checkpoint in Grozny, and as a result, six policemen were injured. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the attackers were identified as 28-year-old Shamil Djanaraliev and 25-year-old Akhmed Inalov.

Shamil Djanaraliev was the leader of the grouping that committed the attack, said Alkhanov, at a meeting with Kadyrov, now the Acting Head of Chechnya. Four persons were detained, Mr Alkhanov has added, not specifying, however, the names of the detainees, as well as the place, where they were taken.

In his turn, Ramzan Kadyrov has demanded from local authorities and the clergy "to strengthen the outreach work" with local residents, especially with minors.

Let us remind you that on May 11, it became known that the houses of Djanaraliev and Inalov were burned down, and their families and other residents of these houses had to move to the neighbours. Earlier, the Russian President Vladimir Putin had twice expressed a ban on destroying houses of militants' families.

According to unconfirmed data, now, relatives of those killed in the attack on the checkpoint have left Chechnya, the head of a Chechen non-governmental organization told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"All their relatives were forced to leave the territory of Chechnya. It is clear that Kadyrov's power agents stand behind it," he said.
