The killed man was a civilian, a former policeman in Dagestan.

Attacks on civilians

On April 28, in Dagestan, Magomed Magomedov, a former chief of the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Shamil District, who retired last year after reaching the age limit, was shot and killed near his house in the village of Golotl of the Shamil District. According to the preliminary information, two assailants shelled and killed him from a Kalashnikov submachine gun and then fled. Investigators believe that the murder may be connected with the professional activities of Magomed Magomedov, and the crime may have involved members of the armed underground.

Detentions

On April 29, the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan detained a 25-year resident of the Levashi District. According to investigators, starting from August 2013, the suspect supplied food products and medicines to members of the armed underground, including Shamil Gazimagomedov, Zalimkhan Rabadanov, Abubakar Musaev, and Magomed Magomedov. Those militants were killed during the special operation carried out in October 2013.
