About 100 employees of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Aviaagregat" held a rally in one of the factory shops demanding to release the detained Director General Gayirbek Gamzatov, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to workers, Gamzatov was detained on April 21, under Part 4, Article 159 (fraud in the area of entrepreneurship) of the Russian Criminal Code. On April 28, the court of the city of Yessentuki arrested Gamzatov for two months.

The rally expressed protest against the prosecution of the Director General stating that "he was arrested on trumped-up and groundless accusation".

At the end of the rally, the protesters unanimously adopted an appeal to the Russian President Vladimir Putin, demanding to clear out the Gayirbek Gamzatov's case and release him. Should their demand be not met in the near future, they reserve the right to "act more decisively".
