Maxim Panfilov to undergo a psychiatric examination
Maxim Panfilov, a resident of Astrakhan, arrested on the charge of involvement in the mass riot in Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012, is to undergo an appointed psychiatric examination. This was reported by his advocate.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of April 7, 30-year-old Maxim Panfilov was detained on suspicion of involvement in the mass riot in Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012. He was taken to Moscow by plane, where he was charged under Part 1 of Article 318 (use of violence against a public officer) and Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involvement in mass riots). On April 8, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow pronounced the decision to arrest Maxim Panfilov until May 7.
On April 13, after visiting his client at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), Sergey Panchenko, an advocate of Maxim Panfilov, reported on the appointment of a psychiatric examination of his client. Earlier, the advocate has reported about a serious neurological disorder of his client, the "ovdinfo.org" reports.
The reason for the appointment of examination has not been yet reported.
At present, Maxim Panfilov is being kept at the IVS (temporary detention facility) No. 1 of the Chief Department for Moscow of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). This was reported by the release of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" published on its website on April 13.
Let us remind you that on April 12, the HRC "Memorial" recognized Maxim Panfilov as a political prisoner.
