At the border with Georgia, North-Ossetian border guards have detained a resident of one of the republics of Northern Caucasus. According to the FSB, the man intended to go to Syria to take part in the combat actions in the ranks of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia.

Today, the press service of the FSB Border Guard Service for North Ossetia has reported that during the check, it was found out that the man had planned to travel through Georgia and then Turkey to get to the territory of Syria with the purpose to join the IS.

"According to him, he was recruited in one of the social networks by an unknown citizen, who persuaded him to go to Syria," the "Interfax-South" quotes an official of the press service of the FSB Border Guard Service for North Ossetia as reporting.

The young man has confessed that the recruiter had instructed him concerning the route of the trip and behaviour on the way and supplied him with the money for travelling to Syria.
