One Nagorno-Karabakh soldier still on the list of persons missing in action
The search for a soldier of the Defence Army, missing in action during the escalation of the conflict, is still underway in the area of the contact line of troops. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 10, the parties to the conflict exchanged the bodies of soldiers and officers, and Nagorno-Karabakh was given out the bodies of 18 killed soldiers and officers. The exchange procedure took place under the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
"The fate of one soldier of the Defence Army remains unknown, and the search is still underway in cooperation with the ICRC mission," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the Defence Ministry of Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the "Orizon" TV show of the local "Shant" TV Channel, Victor Kocharyan, Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People of Nagorno-Karabakh, has noted that the Karabakh side registered 19 persons missing in action, and of them, 18 bodies were returned on April 10.
"They are all identified by their relatives. The Armenian side still has one person missing in action," said Victor Kocharyan.
