CTO legal regime introduced in south of Dagestan for fourth time since start of 2016

The special operation, announced by law enforcers in the Kurakh District of Dagestan, was preceded by three counterterrorist operations (CTO) in the southern regions of the republic. In 2015, the CTO legal regime was twice introduced in the Kurakh District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, at 6:00 a.m. Moscow time, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the territory limited by the boundaries of the villages of the Kurakh District of Dagestan, including Kurakh, Kabir, Ikra, and Rugun, and by Mount Yarkhigyuneikil.

This year, before the special operation in the Kurakh District, law enforcers three times introduced the CTO legal regime in the southern regions of the republic.

On February 17, the CTO legal regime was introduced within the territories of the Tabasaran, Suleiman-Stalsky, and Khiv Districts. A shootout occurred in the village of Natyug, and as a result, two suspected militants were killed.

The CTO legal regime was also introduced in the Tabasaran District on January 21.

In the morning of March 2, law enforcers launched a CTO in the territory of the Derbent District. The completion of that special operation was also not reported.

In 2015, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the Kurakh District at least twice; furthermore, there was an armed incident involving law enforcers and suspected militants.
