Two militants killed in Dagestan, NAC confirms

Two members of the armed underground have been killed during the special operation carried out in the Khunzakh District, and law enforcers are searching for their accomplices. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced in the Botlikh and Khunzakh Districts. According to local residents, in the village of Orota of the Khunzakh District, law enforcers inspected houses and other buildings. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, two militants were killed during the shootout.

During the verification of the information about possible presence of several militants in the Khunzakh District of Dagestan, law enforcers "discovered suspicion persons in the village of Orota." "When law enforcers tried to detain the suspects, they opened fire on them from automatic firearms. After that, the criminals tried to hide in a nearby wooded area. Two criminals were neutralized by return fire, and the search for their accomplices is underway," the NAC's information centre reports.

According to the law enforcement bodies, no civilians or law enforcers suffered during the special operation, the "Interfax" reports.
